AppDB test results: stable version can't be selected/ not in list

Post by Belladonna »

My AppDB maintainer advised me to let you know...

This week I submitted some test results to the Wine AppDB.
When I write this, Wine 9.0 is given/ advised as the stable release. Subsequently, it is installed when when $USER does

Code: Select all

sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable
as instructed.

At this moment, it is however not possible to submit/ file Wine stable release test results correctly, since the current stable 9.0 wine release is simply not present in the Tested Release pull down menu (listing now starts from 9.11).

For Wine AppDB to be useful for $USER, it might be advisable to adapt so correct filing can be done by DB contributors.

Yes, I'm aware of it. The AppDB limits versions for which tests can be accepted to 13. In the past there were 2-3 updates to the stable branch during the year, which was enough to keep the latest stable release always on the list, but this year there were none. 10.0 will come out in January, which will solve the immediate problem. Going forward, if there aren't going to be stable updates throughout the year, the number of versions allowed should probably be increased, though that will lead to an unwieldy list.
