Have you already tried a native scanner application?
Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
Wincatalog is not scanner : https://www.wincatalog.com/
Only scan module no working with Wine 9.7-9.10. (some .NET framework problem). Stable Wine 9.0 worked flawesly

It looks for me like some licensing check related code crashes. (drm? idk) What did you install to make it work? (e.g. winetricks commands)
Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
I tried a bunch of changes and a clean profile and never any change I think from Wine 9.7? to 9.11 doesn't work.
Interesting that Wine 9.0 stable works without problems with the same profile!

Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
How exactly do you reproduce the crash? It seems to work for me.
Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
Very simple. No crash, but no scanning module! If you run Wincatalog and the option "Prefer old scanning module in General/Administrative is not checked, nothing can be scanned. Confirmed by the author of Wincatalog. The option is to use an old unmaintained scanning module without .NET Framework or use Wine 9.0 without problem.

Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
But in the first post you screenshotted a crash?
Anyways, once I start the program I get a crash, but I get that in wine-9.0 as well.
Then I created a new catalog and clicked "Folder" in the toolbar (5th from left), and select a folder. It then scanned it normally.
Once I got a "window class name is not valid" popup and the scan failed, but then I downgraded to wine-9.0 and updated to 9.11 again and I can't reproduce it, even with a clean WINEPREFIX.
Some more information on what exactly goes wrong and how exactly to reproduce it would be great.

"But in the first post you screenshotted a crash?" Screenshot is crash scan module no program Wicatalog
"Then I created a new catalog and clicked "Folder" in the toolbar (5th from left), and select a folder. It then scanned it normally."
Please check again settings NO MARKED Compatibility mode (Prefer old scanning module. ) Then the folder or disk will not be scanned.
When you try to scan, an error window appears: Cannot open catalog file /path/for writing.
With wine 9.0 the same setting worked ok. Only Wine 9.7-9.11 no scanned. I waiting to see if it will be fixed in the new WINE 9.12

Setting is not enabled, but it still works. Using Wincatalog 2024.7.5.
Did you try a clean WINEPREFIX or do you have native .NET or something?

Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
Win 9.11clean wineprefix never works. .NET no modification. Interestingly the author of Wincatalog confirmed the same error. He wrote that there is some bug in Wine .NET Framework. The bug is probably in new Wine when in Wine 9.0 there is never any problem with Wicatalog (the same wineprefix)

That program has a few weird issues that confuse me, but I can reproduce the problem now. Please see https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56886 where I will update and try to find a solution
Re: Wine 9.8-9.10 Wincatalog
Thank you very much for your interest and bug report. I am waiting now for the Wine 9.12 package where there are a lot of changes and it is possible that it will be fixed.
