Hi,
Could please someone clarify if it is or will be possible to run old DirectDraw / Direct3D games (e.g. Diablo 1/2, Heroes of Might and Magic 2/3, Warcraft 2/3) on Apple Silicon?
I found this issue, which seems to be relevant: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55265 , although, as far as I'm aware, there is no proper Vulkan implementation for macOS?

MoltenVK is the library that translates Vulkan calls to Metal. It should run just fine for the most part.
Warcraft 2 is an MS-DOS application: DOSBox would be better suited to run Warcraft 2 than Wine.

Warcraft 2 had Windows version, which is better suited for multiplayer.
Regardless, I was unable to get anyhing Direct3D based working under Wine on Apple Silicon.
DirectDraw apps work with cnc-direcdraw and 3dfx apps work with GLIDE3-to-OpenGL-Wrapper.

Oh yeah, I forgot that there's a Windows version of Warcraft 2. Battle.NET edition, IIRC.
Did you try to install the DirectX installer for legacy programs (not the exact name)? Winetricks might help with installing the files.

I've tried many things which worked on x86. Nothing works on Apple Silicon.
