Getting old Web Plugins from Flashpoint to work on Linux via Wine

Post by Filmkiller »

So as the title says I have been trying to get many Old Web Plugins to work with old browsers like Mozilla Firebird and Pale Moon. Today I tested around 35 but 25 worked but overall I'm trying to get over 110 Plugins working.
Here's a list of all of them: (Note that if it has a ✓ it means it works well or with some modifications)

Some of them like 3DVIA Player, FastBid and AboutTIme didn't worked well or at all.
3DVIA Player crashed Pale Moon with Wine, FastBid didn't booted up at all but it also didn't worked on Windows or AboutTime where I clicked at anything it just crashed.
I only want to get all of them or at least try to get them to work with Wine, Is because Flashpoint is still not that compatible or full on Wine or Linux. So me getting them working would be great. I will share some of them in files if asked soon.

Alright looks like Flashpoint Archive is also trying to get these to work.
But they also struggle with 3DVIA and others. Some of them surprisingly like AboutTime works perfectly on Flashpoint but it didn't worked for me without Flashpoint.

I was taking a look at Flashpoint and it looks like 3DVIA is finally working! You need to use Wine's Internet Explorer and register the ocx file with regsvr32.
Along with some ActiveX plugins like Jamagic (Uses DirectX6 for your curiosity) and some very old program called EGI (one entry doesn't work but it's not much of a problem after all)
So at least 26 platforms to go to get every one of them working.

Code: Select all

20-20 3D Viewer
3D Groove GX
ActiveX
Alice
Atmosphere
DevalVR
DFusion
e-animator
Flatland Rover
Flick (Needs DOSbox)
Jutvision
o2c-Player
Octree View
Pixound
ProtoPlay
Pulse
REBOL
Silverlight (Works by opening the NPAPI browser itself but not with Flashpoint for some reason)
ThingViewer
TurnTool
Visviva
VReam
WebXpresso
WildTangent
Winds3D
XVR
