Rhino6 stopped working with Wine 9 works on Wine 8.0.2

I was very excited when Rhino6 (3d cad program) started working with wine 8.0.2 !!! But after wine 9 was released, the program stopped working, would not even launch, tried reinstalling it and installer would not launch either, no GUI ever popped up for either. Tried making a new .wine directory, and still same issue. Most other windows programs worked fine in wine 9. So as a last effort I reinstalled wine 8.0.2 and the program works again!! Does anyone in the community have experience with this program or have an idea how to troubleshoot why it does not work with wine 9? I already tried WINEDEBUG=+relay and WINEDEBUG=+all but the messages seem to continue for infinity using wine 9 and program never starts, installer shows some kind of memory corruption error. Using WINEDEBUG=+relay or WINEDEBUG=+all on Wine 8.0.2 the program will eventually launch after about a minute.
