Guys, I desperately need a help of someone who knows how Wine and 7Z works.
I had a folder that was ~18GB big and I wanted to compress it because it was very compressable (down to 1.2GB) and I used 7ZIP for it thru Wine because 7ZIP is pretty good at it.
I checked this little checkbox. "Delete files after compression".
It compressed them and they disappeared, leaving the archive. But the space taken by those files remains taken and I deleted all the temp data and cache I could find but I still can't free this space.
I checked "drive_c" folder and it's even smaller than the entire folder that is supposed to be deleted.
Any ideas on what might be happening in this case?
7ZIP deleted files but they still take space
Re: 7ZIP deleted files but they still take space
Is it possible that the files have been moved to your Linux trash directory?
(Keep in mind that 7zip is available for Linux as well)
Code: Select all
ls -asl ~/.local/share/Trash/files/
