wine with lots of games

On my desktop I broke my windows boot putting a newer version of Mint on, and I'm hosting a LAN party soon. So I am really hoping I can get many of these games working in wine.

I got sins of a solar empire, starcraft/brood wars, demigod(a bit laggy), Civilization 4, and a few others.

What I can't get to work yet is
Age of empires 2 conq - error, unhandled page fault
Quake 3 - blankish screen, have to run in window mode otherwise reboot
Left for dead - it works, it's keys almost dont want to work until you hit it the 2nd time.
V-rising - blankish screen after inital

Many games are in the AppDB. Although not every game has been tested with the latest version of Wine, there are often tips on how to make a game work (better). You can also check the Lutris website for information.

Current state:
I can't get Age of empires 2 to work, nothing in AppDB suggesting a fix
Left 4 dead, while it works, is unplayable, have to press buttons twice or something weird.
Quake 3 arena, gray screen (running in window mode because otherwise desktop gets msed up, etc) but again nothing in appdb
Thea 2, trying to do a virtual desktop (because alt-tab = death) I can't get the virtual desktop to be anything but 800x600
