Hi,
I have the latest Wine on a desktop and a PC both running Ubuntu-Mate 22.04. The software I want to run monitors humidity and temperature with 1 to 4 sensors connected via an RS232 - USB adapter. It works under Win7, Win10, and Win11 and under Ubuntu/Wine on my laptop but it does not no my PC, where I always get the message "could not open COM1" or whatever COM port I want the sensor to connect to. I have tried several of the hints I found in the internet but nothing worked so far. To the best of my knowledge, the registry parameters referring to the com ports are identical on the laptop and the PC. Thank you very much for hints!

COM Ports not found
Re: COM Ports not found
This sounds like a problem with permissions to the port.It works ... under Ubuntu/Wine on my laptop but it does not on my PC
Is the user a member of the "dialout" group?

Re: COM Ports not found
it appears to me that I added the user to the dialout group but have to check next week. Thanks for the hint!

I've got the same problem. I'm running Debian10 on a x86_64 platform that has physical Comports and have tried everything to access them (I am member of both sys and dialout groups and ttys0 through ttyS5 exist. Yes, this MB has 6 serial ports)
