Change the default Icon set in Wine-Explorer windows?

Post by nonhocapito »

Is it possible to change the default icon set (I think it's the Tango icon set), visible in the explorer windows across wine applications? (blue folders, white HD etc)

How?

There are some instructions on Wine Wiki on how to create such icon sets, but honestly it's not very helpful.

I'd like to use a more familiar, windows-like icon set.

Or alternatively, use the icon set active on the host Linux system.

[EDIT: Ok, it seems that the icon set is hardcoded inside Shell32.dll. Now the question is, could I replace this dll with a Windows standard one?]

I have replaced Shell32.dll and added Imageres.dll from my Windows 7 install.

This seems to have normalized most icons, though Explorer and file dialogs still use Tango's.

I think these are hardcoded within Wine's version of explorer.exe, which doesn't seem to be replaceable with any Windows version.
