"Unable to execute file NetFx64_x64.exe" installing a program

Post by vanfanel »

Good morning,

While trying to install a program that is critical for my studies, I found this error at the end of the installation and it won't complete:

Code: Select all

"Unable to execute file C:\Users\Manuel\Temp\is-K8BLU.tmp\NetFx64_x64.exe"
It seems to be looking for a dotnet dependency, but I don't know which, and I don't know if it's trying to install it, or if it tries to install it only if not present, or what.

This is the program in question: https://www.prot-on.com/tryIt.html

I wouldn't be using this if it wasn't strictly necessary, please save me from having to resort to a Windows VM!

Thanks

Manuel

If I install the program in a clean Wineprefix with Wine 7.0 or 8.0-rc1 I don't get that message. And the program seems to work normally. (I didn't try the Office and Internet Explorer plugins.) Which version of Wine do you use?
