Foxit-Reader can't sign a PDF

Post by dasarne »

Hello all,
Unfortunately, Foxit Reader cannot sign PDFs. Even importing or creating the certificates does not work. I get the following output from the console:

Code: Select all

013c:fixme:crypt:MemStore_release Unimplemented flags 1
What can I do? Is there a workaround?

Versions:
  • wine-7.16
  • Arch-Linux
  • FoxitReader 12.0.1
Yours

I wonder why you try to use the Windows version of FoxitReader over wine?
There is a Linux version as well that I´m using all day, however I never used the certificates. But maybe worth trying to use the native Linux App instead.

You might look at this forum post. By the way, “cryptage” is French for encryption.

WineHQ gave a good rating to Windows Foxit Reader compatibility with Wine, but the last Foxit version they tested was 10. You might want to try version 11 or 10:

The Foxit PDF Reader User Manual has a section, Signing PDFs, that starts on page 98. It discusses four methods: Foxit eSign, ink signatures, digital signature, and DocuSign. Which method is dasarne using?

The download page for Foxit PDF Reader has a download section for add-ons. One of the add-ons is DocuSign.

dasarne should detail the steps taken in Foxit Reader and the messages or other results received. This forum permits file attachments, such as screenshots.
