Trying to install chessbase on Big Sur

Post by meebee »

I am trying to install Chessbase 12 on my imac Big Sur wine64 7.0 stable.

It only gets to the first install screen where I press the Next button and it shows that it is depressed but never advances from there. I chose CB12 since it has a 64-bit version, which I understand is necessary for Mac wine versions.

I've loaded by the commands:
wine64 setup64Bit.exe
and
wine64 start /i setup64Bit.exe

According to this page (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... n&iId=2793), it should at least install, so not sure what is going on.

That install window shows and never moves on -- I let it sit like that overnight for about 10 hours. Further, no new chessbase folder is created in .wine/drive-c/Program Files/

When I ran in debug mode, it generates a massive almost 2G file (too large to be attached even zipped). I cut this file down to the first 1000 lines and last tail end of several thousand lines if that will be helpful.

One more thing, I tried to override using wine ntdll library but it didn't change anything (maybe I did it wrong since I'm new to this).

Note: I ran this also on Chessbase 15 and it did the exact same thing.
