Submitting Test Report

Post by [email protected] »

I'm trying to submit a test report, but it is being rejected for mismatched WINE version. I tested it on 7.0, but that isn't among the options in the drop-down.

The list shows the 12 latest releases, so each release stays on the list for about 5 months. Normally that's enough to keep the latest stable release on the list. Unfortunately, this year there was an extra 6.0.x release and 7.0.1 hasn't come out yet, so 7.0 dropped off the list. 7.0.1 will be on the list whenever it is released. You can either wait for it or test one of the development versions that is on the list.

Seems odd to not retain the current stable branch as an option since dev branches could include regressions. Just upgraded to LM21 anyway, so I'm on 7.14 now until 7.0.1 comes out.

Normally the latest stable release does stay on the list; this is just an accident of timing. However, it is better for the project for users to test the latest development release and find any regressions, and the AppDB is set up to encourage that. (FYI, the AppDB was created before there were any stable releases.)
