Obsolete GOLD rating in app info

Post by sea_dragons »

The Gold applications list erroneously includes applications and instructions that refer to versions of MacOS that are no longer supported by Apple and applications that are not currently running problem-free as described in the app page, e.g.:
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... n&iId=2910
(this describes the need to enable 32-bit dependencies, which do not run on any current MacOS operating system or any of the hardware released in the last year or in the foreseeable future)

What is the mechanism for updating these lists so users are not mislead and disappointed by the unavailability of software following migration to a new system? Accurate information about migration difficulties can be a factor in influencing users in the timing of their migrations.

The rating displayed is from the most recent test report. It is updated whenever a new test report is submitted for that app.

You seem to be unaware that Wine is not only for MacOS. The majority of the test reports in the AppDB are actually from Linux users, and while an app may be unusable on current MacOS, it may still work fine on LInux. Mac users need to pay attention to the operating system when looking at test reports. It would also be helpful if they submitted more test reports of their own.
