VT Accounts

Hi

I am trying to get this program (accounts package) running under wine.

It installs OK but when I run it I get an error that tells me;

ActiveX component can't create object

but I am not convinced it is an ActiveX problem (or a permission problem).

When run in terminal I get the following output;

Can anyone offer me help in what I might do next as the above means very little to me!

It seems to imply that one of the cab files has not fully installed? Also that something has not registered properly.

Any and all offers of help most welcome.

looks like the problem is here in your console output:
err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {0d43fe01-f093-11cf-8940-00a0c9054228} not registered
err:ole:create_server class {0d43fe01-f093-11cf-8940-00a0c9054228} not registered

That uuid seems to belong to scrrun.dll. Solution: get that dll from a windowspartition, and put it in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/

Then do 'regsvr32 scrrun.dll'. After it is registered successfully rerun your application

do regsvr32 scrrun.dll
does anyone need to do that? I was under the impression that you just had to replace the dll with the native one, and tell wine to use the native instead of the build in

Yes you do need to do that in this particular case.

The registry missing the class registration (exactly what messages say). And just overriding the DLL wont put them there.
