Anno 1404/Dawn of Discovery: Sound but black screen

Hi,

a few years ago i could play anno 1404 (Dawn of Discovery) on an older ubuntu version but now the game doesn't start well. I have a black screen but can hear the sound and see the mouse. I'm on ubuntu 20.04 with wine 5.9 develop. I've tried the game several times: i've installed it in the prefix and copied it from the windows partition to linux. both not working. Doesn't matter whether the dvd is mounted or not or the last patch is installed. Directx 9 is installed and the Engine.ini is changed to

<InitFile>
<QualityLevel>1</QualityLevel>
<DirectXVersion>9</DirectXVersion>
</InitFile>

please tell me what output i should post. The output in the terminal is very long.

I'm a bit late, but I'm looking into anno right now so I figured I'll try to help.

Are you sure that you are editing the right Engine.ini file? I've seen at least 2 of them.
In my case, I had to edit

drive_c/users/myuser/Application\ Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404Addon/Config/Engine.ini

After some Tests it worked but i cant remember what was the reason.
