Help with audio issues

Post by odorono »

Hello all,

hope someone can help. After quite a few issues, I managed to successfully install iZotope RX 7 Audio Editor. It installed with no issues at all, and now it starts just fine too. However:

- when playing audio, only a weird noise is playing. This makes the software pretty much unusable. Here's the izotope's output:

Seems to be something related to Pulseaudio. I'm using wine 5.0, and as stated in the wine wiki I've unset PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC and checked that buffering values in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf are set to default values.

- also, it crashes when trying to open mp3 files, but it opens wave files without issues. I guess there's some codecs missing? Is there anything I can install using winetricks that would fix the issue?

Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance

A work around for this issue is to switch your audio settings to use ALSA in winetricks. Then, for me, the application worked perfectly for me, how ever the "De-crackle" tool specifically was signifigantly slower.

Thanks for your reply! That's interesting, I'll give a try.
Although I've been running Izotope in a virtual windows machine using Virtualbox, and it works pretty. Kinda slow when running some tools of course, I wonder if using wine would be any faster at all. Have you by any chance tried running both alternatives and performing the same task?
