Battle net and Ovewatch worked flawlessly for me for a long time. Then I didn't play for a week or to and when I tired to play next the following issue started happening:
Upon clicking Play it will say launching but a few seconds later Battle net freezes and Overwatch is never launching, even though the exe is running.
I tried updating as well si reverting Battle net from Beta to regular but no difference. And I'm not getting anything in the command line either, it will simply stop outputting anything, so I don't know what to do now.
Any suggestions?

This is likely a due to this regression https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49011
Try to revert to 5.6 or apply the patch.

You may be right, and downgrading does indeed solve it. I made a ticket with Arch suggesting to apply the unreleased upstream patch for the time being.
Thank you!

Re: Overwatch won't start + Battle net freezing
So, that bug was supposedly fixed in 5.8, but as of 5.11 Overwatch still won't run, and downgrading back to 5.6 it does.
So I wonder if this is a new issue now, or maybe that bug was never my problem?
