Hello,
I need to talk to someone ASAP about a repeatable pattern of Trojans being installed via Wine 5.0 and mono-2. I first saw this on a corporate Mac and just reproduced on Ubuntu 18.04 using both of the below libraries faudio
ppa:cybermax-dexter/sdl2-backport
https://download.opensuse.org/repositor ... ntu_18.04/ ./
I'd prefer not to post any additional details until I talk with someone from the team.
I sent an email to [email protected] with my phone number, from the same email as this account.
Matt Svensson.
UGENT - Dropped Trojan
Re: UGENT - Dropped Trojan
Do you mean malware was able to run in Wine, or are you saying you think the Wine packages themselves contain malware because some antivirus program said so?
If the former, yes, that can happen. Nobody ever said otherwise. https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#Is_Wine_mal ... patible.3F
If the latter, you are most likely looking at a false positive, such as https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48681, https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34092, https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48418.

The later. Got it. I appreciate it. Different files, same result, e.g. thinking it's a trojan.
