Recognizing a USB colorimeter

Post by Lost Dog »

Hi there,

I've got a new Datacolor SpyderX colorimeter that I'd like to use to calibrate my TV. It works great with the native linux Displaycal software but that is best for standard monitors and not with advanced CMS settings on HDTV's. The program HCFR 2019 (https://sourceforge.net/projects/hcfr-2019/) loads and seems to work great in WINE but it does not recognize the SpyderX.

I'm using wine-4.0 which is the stable version in Linux Mint 19.2. Using lsusb shows the SpyderX at:

Code: Select all

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 085c:0a00 ColorVision, Inc.
Any suggestions on getting this to work? In standard Win10 I had to uninstall the native drivers and then install the custom Argyll drivers (https://www.argyllcms.com/doc/Installin ... .html#WIN8) but I'm not sure if this is needed (or how to do this) in the WINE environment.

Any suggestions? I'd love to use this right from my linux based HTPC rather than lugging my desktop downstairs and do this via windows!

Thanks much!
