Did you also install the 32bit Nvidia packages?

hello, thanks for answer :)
i install this one : https://www.nvidia.fr/Download/driverRe ... /137435/fr
And this was a really epic quest to do this because, LM don't propose me this driver so i need to install manually. For this, i need disable Xsystem, then disable Nouveau-kernel...

Linux 32bits : https://www.nvidia.fr/Download/driverRe ... /137417/fr
Linus 32-bits ARM : https://www.nvidia.fr/Download/driverRe ... /137471/fr

I don't know what is different between the two 32bits driver.
I doesn't know that we can install two drivers for a GC.

Driver Manager suggest me only these drivers :
Capture du 2019-09-05 22-12-47.png
I choose LinuxMint because he seems attractive and simple, but if the system can be a reason of the probleme , i can change, i am new on it since two days ^^ ( windows before :p )

Thanks for reading ^

It isn't recommended to install the Nvidia drivers with the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-xxx.xxx.run file.
Quote from http://www.geforce.co.uk
Note that many Linux distributions provide their own packages of the NVIDIA Linux Graphics Driver in the distribution's native package management format. This may interact better with the rest of your distribution's framework, and you may want to use this rather than NVIDIA's official package.
According to Nvidia your GPU is supported by the legacy 390.116 driver.

I don't know if the driver manager automatically install the 32-bit packages. You could check with:

Code: Select all

apt policy libnvidia-gl-390:i386
If it isn't, you could install them with:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install libnvidia-gl-390:i386

This give me this :

Code: Select all

$ apt policy libnvidia-gl-390:i386
libnvidia-gl-390:i386:
  Installé : 390.116-0ubuntu0.18.04.1

     390.48-0ubuntu3 500
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/restricted i386 Packages
If it isn't, you could install them with:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install libnvidia-gl-390:i386
So should i do what you say ?

Thanks

When installing the driver via the .run installer (downloaded from nvidia), you must remember to click "yes" when it asks if you want to install nVidia 32-bit libraries.

The reason why it is "recommended" to use the driver from your distro is two part - 1. There COULD be distro specific configurations, and 2. The distro driver is pre-compiled with the correct settings (like enabled 32-bit libraries).
No problem to use the nVidia .run installer with Ubuntu tho usually, but switching drivers is a lot more involved than using the .deb package from the distro. You have to first uninstall the kernel module with DKMS, update initramfs, boot in safe-mode, install the new driver, update DKMS, update-initramfs, and whamola it works :) (Instead of when using the distro driver this happens automagically when running eg. apt upgrade...)

Oh, and yes, you cannot install a 32-bit driver alongside a 64-bit driver... but the 64-bit driver needs 32-bit libraries to work with 32-bit apps... And the "ARM" driver is not for intel/amd processors.

PS. Have you tried running glxgears and see what you get?

This means you have installed the package and you have the latest version.
So the driver manager have installed the 32-bit packages.

Yes
If you get a "command not found" error, you could install glxgears with

Code: Select all

sudo apt install mesa-utils

I will try this, but what wine should i take ?
People say staging, others say devel and other say devel xD

if you have a nice guide ( working ) for this would be very nice .
sorry for my Noobstyle, but so new on Linux, so lost all the time on this :D

And another question, should i take Lutris ( that seems work for lot of people ) as complement to wine or not ?

Thanks for you time and answers :)

World of Warcraft needs Staging, so you need to use this guide:
First: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=32192
Then
https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu

And install:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-staging

Yes, you can. Don't install the winehq-*** meta-packages, but only their dependencies.
In other words:

Code: Select all

# Wine devel
sudo apt install --install-recommends wine-devel wine-devel-amd64 wine-devel-i386:i386
# If you want to use wine-devel run:
/opt/wine-devel/bin/wine program.exe

# Wine staging
sudo apt install --install-recommends wine-staging wine-staging-amd64 wine-staging-i386:i386
# If you want to run wine-staging:
/opt/wine-staging/bin/wine program.exe

Hello guys !

(at this time, playonlinux isn't installed, and before running jkfloris commands to install wine, i made a total purge of wine to begin on a clean install. )

So i tried jkfloris commands and i have this :

You are trying to run the executable program.exe, from the directory "${HOME}" - presumably this directory does not contain this executable.

/opt/wine-devel/bin/wine program.exe
Sorry, I should have told you to change "program.exe" to the name of the program you want to run.
In this case it will be:
/opt/wine-devel/bin/wine Battle.net-Setup.exe

Actually, I realized for myself that it was necessary to replace the "program.exe" (it was late my brain was already sleeping XD)
Well everything works, the Battlenet is well installed, but now when I launch Hearthstone, the game starts, but as soon as the interface is visible, it crash directly. A few days ago I had seen settings to be made directly in Battlenet settings, I'm going to look for this and I'll let you know.

Many thanks again to you who helped me!

So !

Installation Battlenet : OK
Installation Hearthstone : OK
Running Hearthstone : Not OK

After launch the game using Battlenet Launcher, Hearthstone is running but only for a few second. As soon as the image above appears, game shut down.

This looks like bug 42845.

TL;DR
There are 3 possible workarounds. I don't know which one works in your case:
- Disable locationapi on winecfg but the Fireside Gatherings feature seems not work after that.
- Disabling dbghelp on winecfg for hearthstone only.
- Winetricks dotnet40

There is nothing like this in the libraries in winecfg.
