Crossover settings in Wine

Post by starparrot »

Crossover has settings for "High Resolution Mode" and "Performance Enhanced Graphics". Are these also part of Wine? I wanted to check as these may not have been rolled into Wine.

Thanks.

High Resolution Mode, is RetinaMode that’s enabled via a registry key.
Performance Enhanced Graphics, would be the CSMT setting within winecfg.

So yeah both options are built directly into wine already.

Thanks Gcenx. You were going to provide the details of how to enable RetinaMode in my other forum post on here.

Where is the CSMT setting in winecfg? I looked for it but could not find it.

Sorry to bother you Gcenx (and others), but did you have any information on this? Thanks.

Sorry, I looked into it further and can see that this option in winecfg has been removed (possibly available in the Staging version). Thanks!

Yeah CSMT checkbox is only visible within Staging but it's still present within stock wine for a while now.

To enable Retina mode
- The macOS graphics driver supports a high-resolution ("Retina")
rendering mode. It can be enabled by setting "RetinaMode" to "Y"
under HKCU\Software\Wine\Mac Driver.

Thanks again Gcenx. In the Registry Editor there is no section for "HKCU\Software\Wine\Mac Driver". I've attached a screenshot of what I see under HKCU\Software\Wine\Drivers". Where else could this Retina mode setting be, or is it only available in Staging (I'm using Development 4.14)?

You need to add it yourself just like Windows.

Be warned when retinamode is active your programs Windows are gonna be hard to read due to wines almost none existent UI scaling
