iTunes and Apple installers

Quite a while ago I tried to install a then current iTunes with Wine but this failed. Apparently the installer mixed 32bit and 64bit. There was a bug for that.

For the latest version 4.2 I now read:

Support for mixing 32/64-bit dlls in the load path.

Does it mean the past issues around Apple installers are now fixed? What version of iTunes do you recommend for Wine from your own practical experience?
