New version of Freegate crashes with wine

Post by dec26 » Sun Feb 10, 2019 12:34 am

Freegate, is a single, reliable Windows proxy tool which I had used under Wine on my Linux box for years. Unfortunely, the latest released version(fg765p.exe) of the tool crashes with Wine and shows the messages as follows:

Code: Select all

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x00c89440).

System information:
    Wine build: wine-2.21 (Staging)
    Platform: i386
    Version: Windows XP
    Host system: Linux
    Host version: 3.16.0-4-586
I updated Wine to the latest winehq-stable4.0 but no help, it crashes as same as wine-2.21(staging). I have no idea what to do with. Please help the people, like me, as a linux lover, living in an internet blocked country who desperately need this proxy tool.

You can download the proxy tool(fg765p.exe) at, to test for free, thank you.

At Freegate forum some Linux users had post up complaining fg765p.exe crashes with Wine, so then, the problem seems not due with Linux distros, update of Wine and something like that.
