Well... I had to reinstall Mint because...
Installed Wine again.
Now Wine will not run!
I can run 'winecfg' in a root/superuser terminal or 'gksu winecfg' but not normally.
Something from my previous install...
groups & users...
Only thing changed this time is that I entered my full name this go round. But the user is the same.
HELP!
winecfg will not run
Re: winecfg will not run
Never run Wine as superuser.
remove the default WINEPREFIX (e.g. ~/.wine) as a superuser and run Wine as a normal user.

Re: winecfg will not run
@caltrop,
It's probably about time to read the WineHQ: FAQ ...
Especially: 6.2 Should I run Wine as root?
Also see: WineHQ: Wine Downloads / Ubuntu ...
So you don't end up running Wine version 1.6.2 or 1.8.7 (which are totally obsolete)...
Wine Users are expected to read the FAQ - before posting on the WineHQ forums...

Re: winecfg will not run
FIXED IT!
Deleted the hidden directory '.wine' left over from my previous install.
All works as it should now.
