ArmA has two different names: ArmA: Combat Operations (North America) and ArmA: Armed Assault (rest of the world) [1]. Also the expansion has different names: ArmA: Royal Flush (USA) and ArmA: Queen's Gambit (rest of the world) [2]. So it is similar situation like in this: topic viewtopic.php?f=11&t=28228 (Diggles and Wiggles).
The ArmA entries are:
Armed Assault: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... n&iId=4362 (one version is named 1.x US (ARMA: Combat Operations), which have also its own appdb entry)
Combat Operations: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=11776
Can you merge it?
If you decide to merge it, could you name it as ArmA: Armed Assault/Combat Operations or ArmA: Armed Assault (Combat Operations) or something like that?
If you decide to NOT merge it, can you at least:
1)move 1.x US version of Armed Assault into ARMA: Combat Operations or delete it?
2)rename Armed Assault into ArmA: Armed Assault (official name)
Any other ideas?
There is also issue with 2 (Free) version of Armed Assault - Arma 2 is not just update to ArmA, its new game (it has its own AppDB https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=10054). Can you please delete this version from Arma or move it into Arma 2?
Mess in ArmA AppDB entries
Re: Mess in ArmA AppDB entries
You're right, it was quite a mess. I opted for the non-merge suggestion, so there are now two entries, ArmA: Armed Assault and ArmA: Armed Assault/Combat Operations. The description for each now mentions the other entry. I also updated the URL for both entries, as http://www.armedassault.com no longer exists.
I moved the 2 (Free) version to the ArmA 2 entry.
I moved the 2 (Free) version to the ArmA 2 entry.
Re: Mess in ArmA AppDB entries
Thanks! I am not sure about the name "ArmA: Armed Assault/Combat Operations" - why not just ArmA: Combat Operations for this version since it is not merged, but it does not matter.
Good work!
