Transparency issues in COD4/WO Warships

Post by zec »

So I have been having weird issues with transparency in both COD4 and WO Warships. I'm thinking that I am missing some sort of windows driver.

In world of warships, the reflections and transparency of water is messed up. It appears as black. It's hard to explain but here is a screenshot to demonstrate this.

Another thing to mention is if I set my water textures to "medium" and turn off reflections, there is no more of this. I have also noticed these black spots when I play maps that have rain and fog. Black parts of islands can be seen.

In COD4, there are transparency issues with stuff like smoke and bullets. They flicker in different colors and sometimes appear black. Here is a small screenshot of that. I have purposely set all of my graphics options to the lowest settings to test if it still appears.

Specs:
Distro: Arch Linux x64
GPU: GTX 970
CPU: i5-6600k

World of Warships is launched through PlayOnLinux and uses the most recent wine version. I have tried switching to version 1.7.39 & 1.7.35; they still had the reflection bugs.
COD4 is launched through steam using the winetricks "windows" version of steam. Also using the most up-to-date version of wine.

If anyone can help that would be great.
