Hello, I`m having a problem with mono and gecko. I install wine as it is describe in the main page and in the forum and it download, and install both element, unfortunately both element seems that are no working. I try to install both manually but the path /usr/share/wine doasent exist and I try to find the foldiers (/mono and /gecko) but they aren’t anywhere.
I try to create both folders using sudo nautilus but it doesn't work. Winetrix say that mono have not been installed.
Os Ubuntu 14.04 x64 wine 1.9.17 (winehq-devel)
Thenx for all!
Problem with mono and Gecko
Re: Problem with mono and Gecko
Wine should automatically download Mono and Gecko the first time you run it. It caches the downloaded files in ~/.cache/wine. Check there for the gecko and mono .msi files.
Winetricks doesn't install wine-mono; it used to install Windows mono, but that verb was removed some time ago. So what winetricks says is irrelevant, and if your version still has a mono verb, it is outdated.

Re: Problem with mono and Gecko
Thank you very much! (update directory in mono and gecko wiki). So... How can i install .net framework (3.5, 4.5) if winetricks doesn't let me to do it? (It ask for install mono on wine but its already installed).
Thank!
Thank!
Re: Problem with mono and Gecko
Winetricks doesn't ask to install mono when installing .NET. It checks to see if mono is installed and uninstalls it if it is because you can't have both wine-mono and native .NET in the same wineprefix. If mono isn't installed in the winefprefix, there's a console message that it's not installed, but the script proceeds to install .NET.

on wine 1.9.xxx work, but in wine-2.0-rc4 (Staging) this folder ~/.cache/wine is always empty, It has been changed?Wine should automatically download Mono and Gecko the first time you run it. It caches the downloaded files in ~/.cache/wine. Check there for the gecko and mono .msi files.
