Money 2004 installed, but crashing
Hello,
I've gotten Microsoft Money installed and it will start up and then crash. It shows a dialog that says "Converting file" and they I get the dialog that says "this app needs to close" and a checkbox to restart the application.
Others have reported successfully running this application in wine and I wonder if they had to edit the registry or something.
I'm running wine 1.2 rc2 on Mac OSX 10.6.3.
Any help appreciated.

I installed it from the original software CD. I didn't do any overrides. It installed a bunch of stuff that it needed, like IE and so on.
I did cd into the directory before calling: wine msmoney.exe
I went into Libraries in winecfg and typed in the dw20.exe and disabled it, but the MS crash handler is still taking over. I did a quick search but can't figure out what else I would try to disable.

Does IE work. You probably wanted to install that using winetricksI installed it from the original software CD. I didn't do any overrides. It installed a bunch of stuff that it needed, like IE and so on.

Why can't they just export the data in Windows and copy the file to Linux?szilagyic wrote: I'm just trying to get Money working enough to help somebody migrate their data to GNUCash.
As far as getting Money 2004 to run, the AppDB has a report saying it works in Wine 1.2. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=2728
The report mentions using ies4linux, which is not supported here. Don't use it; use winetricks to install ie6.
