wine & BigSur and M1 processor

Post by maurizio »

hi,
i have need to run a quite old 32bit windows program on my Mac (MacOS 11.5.1 M1)
apparently the only Wine version suited to the task is the 6.0.1 but i am not able to find stable binaries for BigSur/M1.
do these binaries not exist or am I missing something?
thanks in advance
Maurizio

Currently upstream is unable to run 32Bit Windows binaries on 64Bit only versions of macOS.

There are currently no recent official Winehq packages for macOS, Gijs and myself have been working on this but beating some required packages into submission and still pass wine tests had been rather annoying.

If you really require running 32Bit Windows binaries on your M1 Mac currently the best supported option would be CrossOver, this commercial version of is worked on my the same developers who work on wine.
