tracking down a source of failures

Post by mish.s »

Good day. High Sierra, fresh install of both brew , wine and winetricks as directed by K6ETA's post on getting Winlink / RMS Express to run on the Mac under wine [ http://k6eta.com/mac/installing-rms-exp ... ine-option ] . The application does in fact run, however there seems to be some file permissions or such preventing the app from being functional. I am looking for steps should I take to generate more debugging information so that the issue can be traced down?
The Winlink application , at it's lowest level , connects via the internet to a server and exchanges emails. Issue No. 1 is that a button that is used to push an outgoing email into a local folder ( to eventually be sent ). The button does nothing obvious and as such - one can't go to the next step. Issue No. 2 is that a non-email request can be sent, but the received response does not show up in the correct folder from the point of view of the app. However the actual received item IS in the correct folder and can be opened by way of the CLI.
Thank you - K7AOZ
