Wine crashes when application tries to play mp3 files

I'm using wine 5.0, and whenever an application tries to play an mp3 file, wine crashes. I get this GUI error: "Music Error : Can not play file." And this is an example log from the terminal when it crashes:

The same error occurs with a fresh wine prefix. The line

Winehq macOS builds don’t include mp3 playback support, you’d need to build wine from source yourself for that feature with the needed mpg123 libraries installed.

Instead check winetricks for a codec to allow mp3 playback
