Hello everybody!
I still use an old Nikon Slide scanner to digitize my slides and black and white negatives.
I used to have Windows via Bootcamp on my Macbook, however, after upgrading to an SSD + HDD via FusionDrive I am unable to install Windows via Bootcamp, which means I cannot use my Scanner.
Now I found Wine and Winebottler, which should allow me to install the latest Windows Version of Nikon Scan and use it on my Macbook.
Now I got some questions: Does anybody use this setup to scan? Does Wine support the Firewire port, meaning, can my scanner communicate with my macbook via Wine? Do I have to take any special care about anything else?
I would be glad if anybody could help me.
Thank you!
Moriz from Vienna
Nikon Scan 4.0.3
Re: Nikon Scan 4.0.3
Winebottler is third party version of Wine that is not supported here.mori wrote: Now I found Wine and Winebottler,
The installer might manage to finish, but Windows hardware drivers do not work in Wine. Scanners must be working on the host system for Wine to see them.which should allow me to install the latest Windows Version of Nikon Scan and use it on my Macbook.
No.Does Wine support the Firewire port,
