So... I have been using an old type of winetricks for a very long time now, and though to myself: "hey they probably have a better version that actually has more than a 20% chance of actually working... why don't I go and get that". so I come to this website and download this .tar.xz file (which I have never seen that type before) and i open it, leading to the file unzipped being a .tar.xz.cpgz. being the dumb person I am I just opened that file too, leading to the exact same .tar.xz file generated.
Can anyone help me?
I am using a Mini-Mac (no clue what version) and am running the newest os(
Thank you in advance

Re: file type help
If you were really looking for winetricks, you're in the wrong place. Winetricks is a separate project; you can download the latest version from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Winet ... winetricks.
OTOH, if it's Wine you wanted to upgrade, this is the right place, but what you downloaded is the source code. That's probably not what you want, because you would have to build Wine yourself. WineHQ does build binary packages for madOS; instructions for installing them are here: https://wiki.winehq.org/MacOS.
