Networking on Mac OS X

Post by rzcraig3 »

I'm very very new to Wine and not terribly familiar with the command line. I've got everything running and have been able to install and run several programs, but several other programs have required networking in order to register before beginning. Networking doesn't seem to be enabled. I saw the guide for this problem for Linux users on the FAQ, but am not sure how to apply those steps on my computer. Could someone please point me to some step by step instructions to follow to get programs installed through Wine to access my internet connection?

Thanks

OS X 10.5.8
I don't have a clue what version of wine I'm running or how to find out. I know, I rock.

they'll use your internet connection just fine... thats probably not where your problem lies.

What might be going on is that you have no web browser in Wine to actually show the registration pages if they are web page based ones. If thats the case you'd need to install Gecko.. and if that doesn't work try Firefox or IE... all can be easily installed using Winetricks.
