Installation outside of home directory

Hi,

I'm using Linux Mint 20.3. Is it possible to install Wine in a directory outside
of one's home directory?

Background: I have several computers at school which restore their
home directory with rsync after starting up so that everyone has a "fresh"
home directory. My last try with Wine resulted in a big Wine directory
so that the restoring of the home directory lasted a few seconds which
I want to avoid.

As long as the user is the owner of the folder and has read and write permissions, then any folder can be used.
