Failed to load the adobe flash player

Post by kagelaris »

Hello everybody

Long story short: I have an old laptop (about 2005). In order be able to do some basic tasks, I installed MX linux (Debian 5.10.70-1 (2021-09-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux), which is quite light.
In this machine, I also want to use a windows application (an old application for kids, it has to be installed from CDs).
The laptop is too old, so I cannot use Virtual Box or VMWare (that was my first thoughts).
So, I decided to try wine. I made the installation. I think everything is fine.
However, when I try to load the application, I get the error "Failed to load the adobe flash player".
Obviously, the application needs flash player so as to run.
I tried a few workarounds that I found on internet, but I had no luck :(
Could you please provide some advise?

thank you,
Andreas

I don't know if this can help you at all(probably not :(), please ignore if it doesn't, but you can get a native linux version of flashplayer(the last version) here:

http://pol2095.free.fr/flash_player_sa_linux.x86_64

It's the standalone version, doesn't include browser plugin. Whatever happens, good luck!

¿Did you installed Windows version Flash Player in Wine?
If not, you'll have to download that in somewhere, as Adobe removed their archive
