I'm having problems installing Wine (onto Mint 20 (Ulyana)), much like a lot of folks have had. Mostly the dread 'unmet dependencies / held broken packages' error. I've tried all of the solutions I've found on the interwebs ( viewtopic.php?f=8&t=35654 and https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=348915 for example) and I've not had any success.
This installation of Mint 20 replaced Ubuntu 20.04 (separate partitions for / and /home) that had Wine running fine. After the switch to Mint, Wine stopped, and I can't get it reinstalled. I've followed the instructions on the download page multiple times.
I've 'apt remove'-ed and 'apt purge'-ed wine, wine64, winehq ... any wine I could find. I've uninstalled any 'wine' that showed up in Synaptic. I've tried to use Synaptic and the command line to fix broken packages to no avail.
wine-installer 'appears' to 'install' (Synaptic description indicates that as the preferred method to install for Mint) but I can't get any of my previously installed Windows apps to work, nor can I install new windows apps. I could re-install all of my current Windows apps if I have to but I'd rather not if you know what I mean.
