how to link the prefetch with hdd

Post by s0l0r1d4 »

Here's the thing,
I have mint Linux on my SSD, and that's my main driver plus windows on a HDD inside the same pc
what I want is to use the actual copy of windows on my hard drive as a prefetch for wine on mint. is there a way I can do that?
also, that includes app data like for example origin, I don't want to download an update twice.
is this doable or do I just keep using both simultaneously

No, you cannot use an existing Windows installation as a Wine prefix.
The chance that the Windows programs will work is small and you will certainly destroy your Windows installation.

If Origin is anything like Steam you may be able to copy things over (or symlink if you're feeling adventurous). Somehow anyway, I'm not familiar with it but it's an idea.
