I was wondering if it was possible to install the latest version of wine stable on Linux without a network connection. If so, I would be greatful if I can get help on how to do it.
I'm running a really old laptop (IBM Thinkpad T43) running Lubuntu 18.04 LTS. I do not have any wifi connection and I'm currently typing this from my mobile device. I cannot tether (my data plan doesn't support it). But I have a usb drive to move things from my phone to my Labtop via otg cable.

One idea is to put either a .deb package or a source package on a usb drive or a cdrom and then install that way.

Packages for Ubuntu and derivatives are under https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/dists/
A lot to scroll through. I assume it's just 32-bit so the latest stable packages would be (I think bionic is 18.x):
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubunt ... c_i386.deb
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubunt ... c_i386.deb
That's the easy part. Getting all the dependent packages could be annoying, though. Another issue is running anything newer on old, RAM limited hardware. If whatever you're trying to run works with older wine versions, well, that's an option and dl.winehq.org has packages going back a while - 4.x, 3.x, some 2.x. Good luck.
