Hello there,
I use a Windows program called AquaCalculator with WINE recently under Ubuntu 20.04. With it I document the measured values of my aquariums. This works very well.
The programme searches for updates at every start and installs them if necessary. But exactly this process is aborted with an error message of the program. Under Ubuntu 18.04 this worked well. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this problem? Can I give the programme increased rights in any way?
Best regards and thanks in advance

Re: Issue updating Windows Software
Hello jkfloris,
Thank you for your reply. Terminal output looks like this, if I start, try to update and stop again:
hans@Buero-PC:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/AquaCalculator$ wine ACalc.exe
hans@Buero-PC:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/AquaCalculator$
The error message comes from the program itself in a pop-up-window.
Best regards

Re: Issue updating Windows Software
Which version of Wine do you use? Do you have other Windows programs/ winetricks installed?
The program, including the auto update, seems to work fine* with Wine 5.19 in a clean Wineprefix.
*) I didn't activate the program
