Questions about Wine on Linux

I have the latest Winehq installed on Linux Mint 20. When I use the "open with" option to choose which program to open a file with, programs that are installed within Wine will be listed multiple times. Wordpad program is listed twice, Irfanview listed over 10 times. Why does this happen and is there a way to remove the extra ones listed?
You should be able to edit or delete those somewhere in your desktop environment, I would think. Alternatively just go about deleting some files, the bug report mentions ~/.local/share/applications/ which for me has a bunch of wine-created things. Or elsewhere, I'm not sure how all that works as I avoid file managers and the like. I may be weird like that.
