I wanted to apologize for anyone I may have offended in the past with the problems I was having with GedStarPro and wine. It has previously taken the staging branch to get it running and I requested some change to stop it needing that. Somewhere along the lines things have now changed.
I was running lately linux Mint 20 and found I could use the stable branch. I found Mint 20 not to my liking at this time, so I went back to Mint 18.3 (I think). Reinstalling everything I just went with the stable branch again and everything works fine with GedStarPro.
So, somewhere amongst all the changes/patches to wine my old problem has been solved.
