Where did you get Wine from? There are no WineHQ packages for Fedora 32 yet; if you're trying to use a WineHQ Fedora 31 package on Fedora 32, that's not supported. If you're using a distro Wine package, report the problem to Fedora.

If you built Wine yourself, what exactly is the problem?

I can confirm. I just upgraded from 31 to 32, and the package is from the official distribution repositories. I have tested with some Blizzard games (Starcraft 1 and Warcraft III [the latter being a hit and miss affair, regardless of version used]), but I do find it curious that Wine crashes upon launching Starcraft from the Blizzard agent, the crash seems to be a segmentation fault (SIGSEGV), though I can't get a trace. Not every application causes the crash, though. I understand that WineHQ does not support the packaged version found in the Fedora repos.

Lutris not work fedora 32 … no error …
Tried launching the app in terminal … no success.
Can’t get the error logs because there are none.

Report the problem to Fedora. WineHQ packages for Fedora 32 should be available starting with the next release (5.8); testing those should help determine whether the problem is a Wine issue or a packaging issue.

Proton does still work for me, even latest 5.0-7

It may seem to stem from some conflicts in glibc in Fedora, I got a bunch of SE errors about nice with different components and that seems to stem from an update to glibc in Fedora 32 while still in beta, it all seems like rather strange interaction issue across various components. I am following discussions on Fedora's bugzilla, at this point I'm not sure if this could even trace back to that (for all intents and purposes, it very well could).

The issue with Lutris, I'm almost sure stems from the phase out Python 2 in F32, but I could be wrong.

The problem is that Proton 5 is based on Wine 5. The problem is wine 5

We have WineHQ packages for Fedora 32 now; can someone please test them in a clean wineprefix?

There was a regression affecting wineboot that was reported for wine-staging 5.7, but it has been marked fixed for 5.8. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49065

I can confirm this also, getting the above failed output on a fresh prefix, but current existing prefixes seem to work ok, just tried my Witcher 3 and Dragons Dogma (Both GOG versions) and they seem to work fine, fresh install of Fedora 32 (Not upgrade) and using the winehq packages of 5.8 staging.

winehq-staging 5.8 (for fedora 32 ) is broken on fedora 31, may caused by glibc
upgraded to fedora32, broken on fedora 32
winehq-staging 5.7 works.

Code: Select all

002c:err:module:__wine_process_init failed to load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\wineboot.exe", error c0000018
0024:err:environ:run_wineboot failed to start wineboot c0000018
0034:err:module:__wine_process_init failed to load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\explorer.exe", error c0000018
003c:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
003c:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow The explorer process failed to start.

Might want to comment on this, seems it’s not just macOS that broken with 5.8 then.
