sound doesn't work in starcraft anymore

Post by zapper »

I am not completely aware of how to debug this either, but when i used winecfg, and clicked on audio:

ALSA lib pcm_asym.c:106:(_snd_pcm_asym_open) capture slave is not defined
0237:fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 24000 (device=2 access=1 func=0 method=0)

I got that.

The odd thing is, I was able to get sound before but i had to reinstall my entire os. That unfortunately led to some issues. But it's essentially the same config as before.

Can someone help me?

I should also add, for some weird reason it does work in the game chex quest. so strange right?

Oh and I compiled wine-staging from source and installed it that way. I am using a rather niche distro at this time, (Archbased) but not rolling release.

Again, same method and same almost everything setup as before.

It does however have audio on my x200 and work flawlessly. Unlike my x230 which it used to work on. :/

Also, i keep forgetting, wine-staging 5.6/5.6.1

That's my last comment on this hopefully for now.

went into winecfg and changed audio from default to analog and now it works.
On my x230 thinkpad. :)
