installing winehq on Mint... again. well, the instructions don't work so...
Hi everyone.
I'm doing this for a friend, at a distance through Teamviewer, who needs MSOffice and has a serial key.
He has the last version of Mint, and I've followed the instructions.
It keeps saying "depency problem, impossible, blablabla", while I checked and it's written "bionic" where it's needed, and not "comic" as I read somewhere that it could be the cause, but it's not.
I could install the graphical front end (phoenicis POL), I could run the installation program but it made no progress in 24h (progression bar not even starting) so I'm assuming it's dead.
since it's a frond-end I revert back to winehq. It's office 2013 pro by the way.
But first I woud like to install wine...
Thanks.

I did it but whatever package I try it says "no version available but exists in the repository/base"

What is the output of the following two commands?
Code: Select all
lsb_release -a
grep -R ^deb /etc/apt/sources.list*

Is additional-repositories.list the only file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d?
And you don't have a /etc/apt/sources.list file?

yet it is the only one, and yes I have sources.list, but who is empty: only an entry for cdrom, and commented with #
I wonder how that works... I only ever had debian before, where on Earth does this apt take his repositories then ?! Whatever.
Wanna more info ?
Is there a way to ask more info from APT about this "there is an entry, but nothing available" which means quite nothing to me.

You should be able to restore the repository with "Software Sources":
