Using, for example, the instructions for installing wine on an ubuntu system, does the installer make the determination of the hardware and therefore install either the 32-bit version of wine or the 64-bit version of wine?
I don't see anything mentioned for separate wine installation instructions for 32 or 64 bit procedures.
I tried searching the forum but couldn't find what I'm looking for.
Forgive a dumb question from a very novice user!
32-bit hardware, wine installation process
Re: 32-bit hardware, wine installation process
If you follow the WineHQ installation instructions, you will install the 32 and 64 bit versions of Wine on an 64 bit systemfrom: https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu wrote: If your system is 64 bit, enable 32 bit architecture (if you haven't already):
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
and the 32 bit version of Wine on a 32 bit system.
If you don't enable the 32 bit architecture on a 64 bit system, you will install a 64 bit only Wine system.
