CAPS LOCK inverted caps lock with MORE wine windows

Post by KommRamius » Thu Feb 14, 2019 1:58 pm

I ran some of my windows applications in wine.
Everything works properly, only there is a "nuisance".

there are 5 application open at the same time, they have many things written in capital letters
When passing from one window to another the CAPS LOCK is reset.

I give an example:
From the first software, I entered the values of some product codes in upper case with the caps lock inserted

If I simply move on to another software ran in wine (es. sample placement manager), the keyboard write in lower case even if the caps lock is turned on ...

I also tried to open a single program, put the CAPS LOCK and then open a second one; the latter is presented directly in lower case.

I hope I was clear..

What can I do to solve this ???

I can reproduce this issue if I start notepad twice in the same Wineprefix.
The misinterpretation of caps lock doesn't occur with different Wineprefixes.
Maybe someone else can also confirm this bug?

@jkfloris

The bug has already been filed... Years ago! :lol:
See: Wine Bug 35907 - Caps Lock state gets confused with multiple processes/threads
I can confirm that using Wine Staging 4.1 - CAPS lock works correctly across multiple notepad threads.
The bug still present in vanilla Wine 4.1 ...
