Hi all,
since some time, internet links do not open from MS Office 2010 Word and Excel in my environment (xubuntu 18.04.01). The behaviour is I open on the link in Word or Excel (click/ctrl+click/Open hyperlink or so), it changes its colour like it has been visited but nothing happens. I can open URLs by launching the browser manually e.g. wine winebrowser http://www.google.com (opens native linux Firefox), wine iexplore http://www.google.com (opens Wine Internet Explorer). When allowing the loaddll debug channel, I see gecko 2.47 gets involved. Allowing mshtml debug channel, it also looks somehow well, mostly same as direct opening via wine iexplore (of course lot of differences due to different handles but generally it seems similar progress evolves). In a separate wineprefix, I run Pegasus Mail which opens the links fine. I tried various wine versions (3.15, 3.13, 3.3, 2.17). It used to work in all of them but I'm not sure when it stopped working (most importantly I don't know if it was before or after 16.04->18.04 upgrade) but anyway this behaviour does not look to me as linux upgrade related. Reinstalling MS Office 2010 might be a problem as it cannot register the licence any more; also running these office apps in 3.15 makes them complain about the registration and wants to register again (luckily I tried in another wineprefix and so didn't ruin the older one)

What could have gone wrong?

That's https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45753. That's already been fixed in git and the fix will be in 3.16.

As for the hyperlinks, please file a bug.

Thanks, will try. (it is a separate issue which I probably should not mix with this one, sorry)

Is it a bug? Seems to me with any version I tried it does not work now but worked some time ago so I feel something changed somewhere else than in wine itself. It is quite possible it was me who screwed something up... but what ...

If it works in Windows but not in Wine it's a bug, and if it worked in Wine before and doesn't now, it's a regression.

I can confirm that following hyperlinks doesn't work in current Wine for either Office 2007 or 2010. Whether it worked before, I don't know, as I never used that feature.

Turns out the regression was already reported. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44423
