Hello,
I'm running Wine Staging 3.14 on Ubuntu Mate 18.04 64bit.
I'm not able to install World of Warcraft through the Blizzard Battle.net installer, nor by the standalone World of Warcraft installer.
This is the procedure I followed:
1) I created a fresh new Wine 64 bit Windows prefix under ~/.wine
2) With winecfg I set Windows Version: Windows 7
3) I turned on VAAPI, EAX from the staging tab
4) Using Winetricks I added corefonts and ie8 as well as vcrun15 runtime as suggested by some websites
5) I got many alerts from Winetricks but the procedure completed
6) I got back to wincfg to reset to Windows 7
Now, the Blizzard Battle.net app works perfectly. It starts correctly and it's smooth.
But when I click the "Install" button on World of Warcraft page, it opens the install window and does nothing.
It stays there looping forever doing something, there is a running process in background.
No progress bars, no dialog, just a window with a deactivated button and the battle.net logo that flashes as something is loading.
Any ideas?
World of Warcraft: unable to install from Battle.net app
Re: World of Warcraft: unable to install from Battle.net app
It started the installation by doing this:
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... ss=version
(see "Cannot install or update games")
And also opening ports on the router as suggested here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/World ... aft#router
Let's see if that's enough to play after the installation
